Where your data goes
Four places, from closest to you to furthest away.
- In this tabYour chat lives in this tab's memory. Close or reload the page and it's gone.
- In your browserOnly your text size and contrast choices, so the site looks the way you left it. Chat is never kept.
- On our serverYour question goes to this site's server so it can answer. A file goes there for the document check, and isn't kept.
- On other sitesLinks to department portals leave this site. Their own privacy terms apply there.
What we ask for, and what we never do
You can use every part of Keralam without telling us who you are.
What we use
- The question you type, to answer it.
- A file you attach, to run the document check.
- Your text size and contrast, saved in this browser.
- Feedback you choose to write, without your name.
What we never do
- Ask for your name, phone number or email.
- Create an account or sign you in.
- Store your chat or keep your files.
- Ask for card, bank or UPI details, passwords or OTPs.
- Use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts.
What happens to a file
Attach a photo or PDF to check a document. This is the whole journey.
You attach it
A photo or PDF, up to 10 MB.
The server reads it
It runs the document check. The server doesn't keep the file.
You see the result
Only the file's name is held, in memory, so the result can show it back to you. Nothing is written to disk.
The details
For anyone who wants the fine print.
What is kept in your browser
Two small settings, ik.textsize and ik.contrast, so the site looks the way you left it. Chat is never kept.
What else is sent
- Share copies a link with your question in it, never the answer.
- Voice input uses your browser's speech recognition. Depending on the browser, its maker may process your audio. Typing doesn't do this.
Feedback
- Feedback is anonymous. It carries what you write, the page or question you name, and on the Coming next form an optional district. Nothing that identifies you.
- In this prototype the server doesn't store it.
What the server logs
Nothing you type is logged or stored. Anonymous feedback posts are not stored in the prototype.
Wherever it is hosted, the host may keep standard access logs, such as page addresses. A shared link contains its question.
