Questions, answered
Short answers about how Keralam works.
The basics
What Keralam is, and what it is not.
What is Keralam?
A place to ask about Kerala government services in plain words. You get clear steps, and a link to the official source for each answer.
Is it official?
No. It's a prototype, not an official Government of Kerala website. It doesn't run on a government domain and isn't connected to any department's systems.
Can I apply or pay here?
No. Keralam sends you to the department's own portal, in a new tab, to apply or pay. It never asks for card, bank or UPI details, passwords or OTPs.
Which languages work?
Replies are always in English. You can type in English, and the prototype also recognises some Malayalam and Manglish questions. Voice input listens for English (India).
Answers and sources
Where answers come from, and what to do if one is wrong.
Where do answers come from?
From official Kerala government websites and portals. Each answer lists its sources and links to them. If no official page answers your question, it says so instead of guessing.
What if an answer is wrong?
Software writes the answers, so they can be wrong. Check anything important on the linked official page. Under any answer, choose “Not quite” to tell us what was wrong.
Your data and files
What is kept, and what is not.
Is my data stored?
No account is needed, and your chat stays in your browser tab's memory. Close or reload the page and it's gone. Only your text size and contrast choices are saved in your browser.
Can I upload a document?
Yes. Attach a photo or PDF, up to 10 MB, and Keralam shows a document check. In this prototype the check is a fixed example, not a real reading of your file. The file isn't stored.
Help
In an emergency, or when something goes wrong.
What about emergencies?
If your message mentions something like a flood, a fire or an accident, the emergency numbers appear straight away, before any answer, even if you're offline. They are 112, 1077 for the district disaster control room and 1056 for the DISHA health helpline. If anyone's life is at risk, call now.
How do I report a problem?
Use the feedback page to report a wrong answer, a broken link or anything else. You don't need to give your name.
